Northwinds Woodwind Quartet, founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, is a group of passionate musicians driven by their shared love for chamber music. The ensemble boasts a diverse lineup, with members hailing from different backgrounds and professions. Among them, there is an avid birder and mycologist, a retired accountant, a former lawyer now a tennis club owner, and music teachers who delight in creating musical experiences with young learners.
The talented musicians comprising Northwinds are Beverly Dooley (flute), Ken Bronstein (oboe), Barry Ulman (clarinet), Jackson Stewart-DeBelly (bassoon), and Doug Robertson (horn). Individually, they are well-seasoned performers associated with various local ensembles, such as the Skagit Symphony, Bellingham Symphony Orchestra, What the Chelm, Clearbrook Dixie Band, Jimmy Lindquist Big Band, and Millie and the Mentshn.
